Mango Carafino, who explains in great detail some of the key technologies on Carafino's latest hydrofoil performance designs,

I have to tell you how the innovations happen so quickly, because it will blow your mind. "Byte-perfect" software. The software has allowed us to create a hydrofoil that can be ridden in ultra-light wind as low as 8mph. The hydrofoil ability to go up wind and maintain position in such light air conditions is amazing. .

This really is one high performing hydrofoil...It's a sensationally adhesive one too....each upwind tack instantly puts the rider ahead of the pack in upwind display of board characteristics for racing or free style, it seems the Carafino M9X is invincible. The limit lies with you, not the board.

The image below that demonstrates the power of the hydrofoil. When compared to conventional kiteboards, they are uncomparable. The hydrofoil works similar to a keel of a sail boat allowing the rider to tack upwind at angles unimaginable. This technology, in combination with the fact that the foil produces nearly no friction, gives the rider the ability to ride upwind in even the lightest wind conditions.
